Jeremy Blackburn, RICS Head of Policy, said: “The RICS would like to congratulate the Prime Minister, David Cameron, on being returned to office and we look forward to engaging with his new administration.
At a time when property, planning and development are more central to Britain’s economic future than at any time before, stability and a clear vision for this sector at this time will be crucial to securing the growth, prosperity and equity of this country for the next generation.
Infrastructure, that vital foundation to economic activity, requires clarity, long-term planning and thorough thinking to ensure that it secures our economic future and incorporates all parts of our nation in our future success.
Likewise, a solution to Britain’s long-term supply-side housing crisis is now a matter of national emergency, and we urge the new government to make solving this crisis a priority.
The RICS, and its members, look forward to continued working with government and industry to deliver the built environment policies necessary for a strong and prosperous Britain.”
