GOOLD ESTATES has started reaping the benifits of its £1.2m refurbishment of the former Redmill Snack Foods site after securing five new tenants. Almost 60,000 sq ft has now been taken at the newly christened ‘Red Mill Trading Estate’, out of the 100,000 sq ft that has been refurbished, giving the company the confidence to go ahead with renovation for another 20,000 square feet.

Redmill Snack Foods was purchased by Goold Estates four months ago for £1.79m.

Dominic Goold, managing director of Goold Estates, said: “Recognising the shortage of quality industrial and warehouse units we commenced demolition works to open up the estate and a full refurbishment of units immediately after the purchase and have been delighted with the take-up. Not only have we secured our first five tenants but a further four units are under offer. This gave us confidence to refurbish the final 20,000 sq ft which will be completed in the spring.”

Amber Foods, (part of the Two Sisters Group), is the most recent tenant, taking up 5,000 sq ft. The Cotswold Company moved into 40,000 sq ft unit at the end of 2015,  Screwfix has taken 5,300 sq ft, and Billsave Insulation now occupies a 5,000 sq ft. Birmingham’s Harris Lamb are handling enquires for Goold Estates.
