A team led by Aecom and featuring Asif Khan, BIG and Wilkinson Eyre has won the contest to masterplan the vast Old Oak Common development zone in west London.
The engineering firm and its partners saw off competition from six other shortlisted parties to plan the £26bn regeneration of the north west London district.
Aecom will now draw up several masterplan options for the 650 ha site to allow the preferred option to be selected early in 2018.
Old Oak and Park Royal is one of the most important regeneration projects in London, with a new HS2 and Crossrail Station due to be constructed at Old Oak by 2026.
Redevelopment of the area has the potential to deliver 24,000 new homes and 55,000 jobs in Old Oak and 1,500 new homes and 10,000 jobs on the adjoining Park Royal industrial estate.
