An award-winning multi-disciplinary construction consultancy has been chosen to carry out building surveys across 16 academies within South Essex and North East London.

Daniel Connal Partnership (DCP), which has offices in Colchester, London and Norwich, has been appointed by Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust (EFSPT) to complete condition inspections at each of the school’s premises.

Taking four to eight weeks to complete, the reports will provide EFSPT with a better understanding of the condition of their buildings enabling them to prioritise any future maintenance and required improvements.

Jonathan Dennis, partner at DCP, said: “We are very proud to have been appointed by the Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust to undertake these surveys. Their portfolio consists of mainly infant and primary schools which range in size – from 70 to 600 pupils – and in the age of the buildings. This is our first project with the Trust and we are looking forward to providing them with an expert service, supporting them in achieving their aspirations for the schools in their care.”

The multi-academy trust was formed in March 2018.

Commenting on the appointment, Peter Tidmarsh, Chief Executive Officer at Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust, said:

“EFSPT is dedicated to providing the best possible learning environments for all our pupils and staff.   We are delighted to have DCP on board to help us achieve that aim. Their building reports will provide key information for our Trust Asset Plan, enabling us to maintain and improve our facilities as we grow and move forward.”

Established in 1946, Daniel Connal Partnership has extensive experience in the education sector having worked on both state and independent projects.
