Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced it will be taking part in a number of key industry events in the autumn highlighting its continuing support for professionalism and raising standards across the fire, safety and security sectors.  The federation’s support – and presence – will help businesses to achieve compliance through technical advice and information.
DHF will be on stand K35 within The Security Event at The Security Event and The Fire Event, taking place from 7-9 September at NEC Birmingham, with the trade association on hand to meet with new and existing members.  It is the first time DHF will be attending the event which has now become the premier national security and fire safety event in the UK for the commercial, enterprise and domestic markets.  As a supporting partner, DHF will demonstrate its commitment to progress and excellence in these industries, with The Security Event and The Fire Event, the perfect platform from which to show its support.
Also in September, DHF’s General Manager and Secretary, Michael Skelding, will be presenting at the FIT Show (running from 26-28 September) on 28 September at NEC Birmingham.  He will be presenting on ‘Garage Door UKCA Marking, Safety, and Conformity’ and will cover a range of topics including: the end of CE marking in GB, Northern Ireland CE, CE marked doors from Northern Ireland in GB, Marking plates, Who is responsible? Third-party conformity assessment, Standards for CP Legislation – EN 13241, Standards for Machinery Legislation – EN 12453, Principles of safety, Common non-compliances, Documentation, Example DOP, Example DOC, Installation manual and O&M manual.
October will see DHF’s Senior Training & Compliance Officers, Nick Perkins and Steve Hill, together with Director of Security Access Systems Ltd and Chairman of DHF’s Automated Gate Group, Martin Keelagher, hosting a Q&A panel session on Stand 32 at Fencex on 13th October at NAEC Exhibition Centre.  And in the same month, Fiona Critchley of Gerda Security Products Ltd and Chairperson of DHF’s Timber Doorset Group, will be representing DHF with her presentation entitled ‘Standards & Legislation Affecting Flat Entrance Doorsets’ at 11am in the Locksmiths Theatre on 22 October at MLA at The Telford International Centre.  The event runs from 22-24 October inclusive.  Michael Skelding will also be presenting at 2:30pm on 22 October in the Locksmiths Theatre on ‘Conformity Marking After Brexit’.  DHF can be found on stand H2.4.
“Following the cancellation of so many industry events in 2020, we are delighted to be able to participate at these key events in the autumn,” says DHF’s Head of Commercial Operations, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens.  “Since our inception, we have continued to represent our members, inform the industry, and continue to strive for change, progress and awareness across these sectors.  We hope that, through our presence at these events, we will be able to continue to provide both members and non-members with the support, technical expertise, information and knowledge they need to operate in their chosen sector, successfully and compliantly.”
