Once applied SPF immediately adheres to the surface and then expands 20 -120 times its original size filling gaps and acting as an adhesive to bond materials.
When properly installed, SPF can be an ideal air control material because it forms a continuous air control layer around penetrations like pipes, doors and windows. Additionally, it’s an excellent bulk water and moisture barrier. It also provides structural enhancements to buildings. When applied under roof decks, closed cell foam can reduce uplift and protect the structure in high wind areas.
