International property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, has recently been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service’s Project Management and Full Design Team Services (PMFDTS) framework.
Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is an Executive Agency of the Cabinet Office, supporting the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services.
Gleeds proved successful in its bid for three lots encompassing multi-disciplinary, project management and cost consultancy services, meaning it could be responsible for supporting public sector contracting authorities in their delivery of a range of schemes with a potential value of £2.8 billion. Projects covered by the new arrangement are expected to include services from new builds and refurbishments, to conservation schemes and maintenance programmes.
The PMFDTS framework was developed to support the Crown Commercial Service in offering public sector customers access to a compliant and effective procurement route for their property and construction projects. Those appointed will now be called upon to provide organisations with broad strategic advice and innovative solutions across a range of disciplines and functions.
As part of Gleeds social value policy, framework delivery will be further supported by an extensive supply chain to maximise local project delivery and the promotion of government project opportunities to small practices. The agreement will initially run for a period of two years, with options to extend up to a maximum four year term.
Commenting on Gleeds’ success, Framework Lead and Main Board Director, Jonathan Stewart, said: “This framework will enable public sector bodies to access comprehensive ‘inception to occupation’ professional services from Gleeds for all of their construction projects. We are very proud to have secured three lots on this prestigious framework, and delighted to offer public sector clients a quick and simple means of appointing us in order to help them deliver projects to the highest standards of quality and value for money.”
CCS’s aggregated commercial solutions provide significant savings for the taxpayer, helping to protect the delivery of front line services.
