An innovative UK construction business specialising in high-end residential projects and multi-unit developments, delivered at a fair price, has won two prestigious prizes at this year’s London Construction Awards
After being shortlisted for the awards earlier this year, Golden Houses Developments attended the exclusive awards gala dinner on Wednesday 25 October at The Royal Garden Hotel, where they picked up the awards.
Golden Houses Developments won the London Build Excellence Award, while the firm’s founder and director Monika Slowikowska won the Women in Construction Award.
Monika Slowikowska said: “I’m absolutely delighted to win not one, but two respected awards. The London Construction Awards are the leading and most prestigious construction awards in London and there was tough competition from other industry leaders. To be recognised for the work we do, is truly an honour.”
Monika continues, “Much of the company’s success is down to my talented and loyal team, some of which were present at the awards. We really share a love for the work that we do and it’s times like this that demonstrate how tight we are as a team. They couldn’t have been more thrilled for me as I collected the awards and proud when we won the second Award.
The London Build Excellence Award celebrates the outstanding contribution to London’s construction industry, through radical innovation or sheer persistence, whilst the Women in Construction Award recognises the achievements of those that have forged a path for others to follow.
Golden Houses Developments was founded to change the construction industry and to end the constant focus on conflicts and by using in-house teams to reduce the cost of building. By and by working with customers and building relationships, the company has been able to design extravagant and stunning spaces across London.
The company is known for bringing skill, professionalism and integrity to its work, simplifying the building process through clever design and attention to detail.
Recent projects have been completed in residential centres across Greater London, including Highgate, Angel, Harrow, Canary Wharf, Paddington, Putney and Hampstead.
Also known for building excellent customer relationships, it is fast becoming a leader in London residential market. Name recognition for the firm is steadily increasing after it worked with the host of Channel 4’s hit TV show Amazing Spaces in 2015 and was featured on the cover of ELLE Decoration in 2012.
As a director, Monika Slowikowska is one of the only women working in the construction industry at this level. She is of Polish origin and came to Britain unable to speak English, but has since held roles in the engineering, architectural and construction industries.
She launched Golden Houses in 2012 and has built it into a success story. The business is growing exponentially and achieved six times higher turnover in its fourth year than it did in its first year.
