Plans to redevelop a key site in Horsham town centre in West Sussex have been given the thumbs up by council planners.
A joint venture between property development and investment company Reef Estates and Arcus-PCD aims to redevelop Piries Place with an Everyman three-screen cinema, a 92-bed hotel, shops, offices, and restaurants.
Tenders have been invited for the project, with regional firm R G Carter expected to be among contractors submitting bids.
Designed by urban revival specialists Holder Mathias Architects, the mixed-use scheme’s building will comprise two types of brickwork, as well as bronze coloured metalwork.
Max Poole, Partner at Holder Mathias, said: “This is a significant mixed-use scheme that will transform Piries Place and regenerate the wider area of Horsham by expanding the town’s leisure offering.”
Construction is due to start in June, with completion expected September 2018.
