Leading HVAC group Groupe Atlantic UK has raised over £38,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, following a sustained fundraising drive.

Macmillan Cancer Support is the nominated charity across Groupe Atlantic UK’s brand portfolio, which includes Ideal Boilers, Ideal Commercial, Hamworthy Heating, Keston, Gledhill and Atlantic Heat.

From sponsored cycling and mountain climbing to community events and charity raffles, £38,594 has been raised since the start of 2018.  As well as taking part in official events organised by Macmillan, the business has organised a number of its own fundraising challenges, and collected more than £2,600 in donations alone at its group-wide UK, ROI and North America conference.

The total raised is enough to fund a Macmillan cancer nurse for nine months – an invaluable source of information, advice and support for cancer patients and their families.  Looking ahead to the next wave of fundraising, the business’s ambition is to support 150 Macmillan Grants by the end of 2020, helping cancer patients and their families cover the extra costs they might be facing.

Every day, more than 46 people receive heating grants from Macmillan, with £200 being enough to help somebody living with cancer to heat their home when they need it most.

Shaun Edwards, CEO of Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI and North America Divisions, said: “We’re pleased to see what combining our fundraising efforts across our Groupe Atlantic UK companies has achieved. It’s not just our brands as a whole but also the individuals within who went out of their way to raise more money. With the £38,594 we’re donating, we can fund a Macmillan cancer nurse for nine months. It’s great to see how our contribution can make a real difference.”
