Ibstock Brick has been listed as a finalist in the ‘Best Brick Supplier’ category at the first-ever Homebuilding and Renovating Awards.
The awards have been launched to celebrate excellence and innovation right across the construction supply chain – highlighting organisations that have delivered outstanding work over the past 12 months.
Named as one of just four finalists in its category, Ibstock Brick earned its nomination via its Tradesman range. The Tradesman range is a selection of clay products, designed to meet the unique requirements of the some 20,000 UK homeowners who embarked on self-building projects across 2019.
Following extensive customer research, Ibstock identified that complying with planning regulations and maintaining synchronicity with the wider local brickwork vernacular were chief among many self-builders’ priorities when undertaking a project. To help keep their projects in line, Ibstock designed its Tradesman bricks in a variety of colours and textures that are closely matched to ‘local stones’ – for example, the distinctive red brick made from lower Oxfordshire clays, which has been a popular choice for houses since the 1930s.
The Tradesman range also offers superior durability, colour consistency and frost-resistance, thanks to the stringent testing undertaken during the manufacturing process. Furthermore, the bricks are easy to lay which guarantees minimum wastage, thus helping self-builders to stick to their often-restricted budgets.
Simon Taylor, Sales Director – Builders Merchants commented: “Whether it’s an extension or refurbishment project, we designed our Tradesman bricks to be perfect for use in key geographical locations throughout the UK. So far, we’ve had rave reviews from self-builders, who praise the bricks’ consistency in durability, strength and colour, as it means they don’t have to search through each pack to find the most ideal brick – each one is perfect for their project!
“The success of the Tradesman range is thanks to a collaborative and tenacious effort from across the business, from Research & Development, to Sales, and everyone in between. That’s why we’re so thrilled to be nominated at the highly-anticipated Housebuilding and Renovating Awards! We’re looking forward to seeing the other finalists at the Awards ceremony, and wish them all good luck.”
This nomination is the latest in a line of award nominations that Ibstock has received over the past few months, which includes the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards and the Construction Marketing Awards, at which Ibstock’s marketing division was named ‘Team of the Year’.Â
