Ibstock, one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of clay bricks and concrete products, has been named as a finalist in two categories at the highly acclaimed Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Marketing Excellence Awards.

Celebrating the outstanding marketing delivered by businesses across the UK for the 11th year running, the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards represent the gold standard for industry marketeers.

Ibstock is shortlisted for these renowned awards, the pinnacle for the marketing industry, for the first time in the company’s history. The Ibstock brand joins a host of household names also shortlisted at the event, such as Aviva, Rolls-Royce, EDF Energy, Barclays, O2 and HSBC.

Recognising the success of Ibstock’s recent rebranding campaign, the manufacturer’s first nomination is in the ‘Best Brand Building Campaign – Large’ category. Last year, Ibstock unveiled an all-new corporate identity, streamlining the business’ diverse service offerings under one, distinctive brand. The business also unveiled a brand new hexagonal logo, symbolising its core brand values of strength, flexibility and efficiency, alongside a corporate strapline, ‘At the heart of building’, which puts Ibstock at the centre of the conversation on design, modernisation and innovation in its sector.

The second nomination is for ‘Best Integrated Campaign – Large’, which arose from Ibstock’s multichannel campaign to successfully launch its new brand identity and a host of other business milestones, such as the launch of its new London-based architectural showroom, The I-Studio. The I-Studio is a collaborative, interactive showroom which combines information, state-of-the-art technology and a team of in-house experts in an offering which is completely unique to the UK market.

Chris Daly, chief executive of the CIM, comments: “I’m delighted to announce the shortlist for this year’s Marketing Excellence Awards. We have seen many outstanding entries this year, and the breadth of entries clearly demonstrates our profession’s hard work over the past 12 months.

“In uncertain times, the UK marketing industry has risen to the challenge to produce high quality campaigns and significant rewards. For over a decade, our Marketing Excellence Awards have recognised the industry’s achievements and high achievers, but, this year, picking a shortlist has proved harder than ever.

“I would like to offer my congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted; they represent the very best in the UK’s marketing talent.”

Ibstock’s marketing team in its current form has only been in place for little over a year, making the nominations a fantastic achievement and a testament to the team’s hard work.

Annette Forster, Group Marketing Director at Ibstock plc, comments: “We’re excited to be nominated in not just one, but two categories for such a prestigious awards scheme. This is another major achievement for the team, after we were named ‘Marketing Team of the Year’ at the recent Construction Marketing Awards at the back end of 2019.

“The sheer determination, hard work and commitment of the marketing team, coupled with our strategic vision for the business, is the reason why we’ve been able to successfully enhance Ibstock’s market position and gain national recognition for doing so. Good luck to everyone shortlisted and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you at the awards night.”

The nominations kick off 2020 with a bang for Ibstock, with further roll out of its The I-Range offering – which comprises of an array of brick solutions backed by expert support – planned for the months ahead.

The awards ceremony for the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards 2020 will take place on 2nd April at The Brewery, London.
