Leading building services provider J S Wright has secured a c£3.5m contract to help transform a former industrial area of north London to a luxury residential suburb.

The award-winning company is to install the mechanical services for 227 new homes on the site of a former telephone and electric works building at Sarena House in Colindale for Galliard Homes.

J S Wright, which has offices in Birmingham, Bristol and Birmingham, will equip 191 apartments and town houses, as well as 36 affordable flats, set in luxury courtyards and gardens.

The 2015 Building Services Contractor of the Year will install a central energy centre with a combined heat and power boiler for the properties, which include six individual apartment buildings with terraces or balconies and six houses with private gardens.

The company will also equip each apartment with a heating interface unit to deliver domestic water services, and a mechanical extraction ventilation (MEV) system, which will provide continuous energy efficient ventilation without the need for extractor fans.

J S Wright will also install above-ground drainage, gas services, building management system controls, sanitary services and dry risers throughout the scheme. The company began work on site this month (August) with completion scheduled for March 2018.

J S Wright is already working with Galliard Homes on Capital Towers – two residential towers of 14 levels and 34 levels at Stratford in East London, the 423-apartment Indescon Court scheme at Millharbour, and on 18 luxury apartments and penthouses at Hanway Street in Fitzrovia.

Marcus Aniol, Managing Director of J S Wright, said: “We are delighted to be chosen again by Galliard Homes to support the rise of a new London suburb by helping to transform a redundant industrial site in the heart of Colindale to a major luxury residential development.”

J S Wright, which was founded in 1890, specialises in the design and installation of mechanical and electrical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.
