Contractor on Mayor’s flagship £1.65bn energy efficiency retrofit works framework. Housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat has been appointed to the Mayor of London’s flagship £1.65bn ‘RE:NEW’ home retrofit programme framework.
Set to support large scale retrofit across the capital, the goal of the four-year award winning RE:NEW framework, which is currently in its third phase, is to significantly increase the scale of domestic energy efficiency works in London.
The programme will support social housing landlords, local authorities and others to invest £352m into energy efficiency improvements to more than 175,000 existing homes, to save 93,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum by 2017.

With over a third of London’s greenhouse gas emissions generated from homes, retrofit offers wider benefits to residents by reducing fuel bills, helping alleviate fuel poverty and minimising cold related health problems.
The Mayor’s Climate Change Mitigation and Energy Strategy sets out a target to reduce London’s carbon dioxide emissions by 60% of 1990 levels by 2025. London’s boroughs and social housing providers also have their own carbon reduction targets.
Established in 2009, RE:NEW has already delivered improvements to more than 100,000 homes, saving over 22,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum.
