Construction contractor, Krol Corlett, has successfully completed a stringent audit process to be awarded FIRAS accreditation for the installation of timber fire doors.

The respected accreditation adds to a wide range of industry approvals for Krol Corlett as the company continues to grow with a wider reach across the North West and more diverse range of projects.

Refurbishment and upgrades of existing properties across varied sectors including education, healthcare, hospitality and student accommodation form an important part of the company’s portfolio and the FIRAS accreditation will ensure clients can be completely confident of expert, compliant installation for timber fire doors.

Daniel Tebay, director at Krol Corlett comments: “Since the tragic events at Grenfell Tower in 2017, fire safety has become a key priority in the specification of all types of buildings. Fire doors are an important factor in stopping fire from taking hold but their effectiveness depends upon compliant installation.

At Krol Corlett, we always take a quality-assured approach to installing all safety features to the very highest standards and our FIRAS accreditation confirms this commitment and provides an important indicator of fire-safe best practice for our clients.”

The FIRAS audit included an assessment of Krol Corlett’s office management systems, an assessment of workmanship and a competence assessment for both the company’s supervisory team and its installation employees.

“We’re delighted to have been successful in gaining FIRAS accreditation,” Daniel continues, “and we will continue to identify industry approvals that confirm our high standards of best practice and invest in achieving them.”
