System scaffolding specialist is delighted and proud to have received major award recognition at one of the industry’s most prestigious events.

Layher – NASC 2019 Innovation Award Winner – FlexBeam

The company has won the acclaimed Innovation of the Year award in front of 700 VIP guests at the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation Annual Ball and Awards, held this year at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, with its new aluminium FlexBeam development.  Moreover, it achieved the runner-up position in the same category with the Layher Scaffold Information Modelling (SIM®) software, while its Lightweight Steel Deck was also recognised as a finalist.

“We are honoured to have received the recognition from the industry’s leading body and independent judging panel, and believe the achievement reflects both our commitment to ongoing innovation and also the effort and expertise of the full Layher team,” says Sean Pike,

Layher’s UK Managing Director.  “To have not only won the category but also receive the runner-up and finalist accolades speak volumes for our belief in working closely with our customers to develop solutions and innovations that help to achieve more effective results wherever Layher equipment is used.”

Layher – NASC 2019 Innovation Award Runner-up – SIM

The Layher FlexBeam, designed for suspended, cantilevered and gantry scaffolds, achieves a 40% higher bending load capacity as well as allowing lower construction heights to be achieved, while Layher’s SIM® builds on the company’s established LayPLAN and LayCAD facilities to create 3D visualisations, clash detection and design analysis.  “These offer a variety of design features either on screen or via a VR headset with key information outputs such as material needs, weights and logistical details then generated,” explains Sean Pike.

“This is an excellent achievement and one which shows that every effort made by the team in the UK is very much appreciated by our clients,” adds Carolin Langer, Managing Shareholder at Layher’s head office in Germany.  “It shows that we can offer a full package of programmes that is perfectly suitable for our market and is supportive of the demands of the industry.”
