Leading office design, fit out and refurbishment specialist Morgan Lovell has begun refurbishing the 25,000 sq ft headquarters of Swiss chocolatier and confectionery company Lindt and Sprungli UK in Feltham, west London.

Lindt and Sprungli UK, the globally renowned chocolatier, wants to create an environment for its employees that reinforces the idea of accessible luxury through design, innovation and collaboration. Tasked with developing an inspiring workplace to support its vision as a leading fast-moving consumer goods business (FMCG), Morgan Lovell is providing workplace consultancy, design and refurbishment works across an 18 week programme. After months of research and careful planning by the Morgan Lovell team, the project has now officially begun onsite and is due to complete in October.

At the start of the project, Morgan Lovell joined up with Lindt and Sprungli UK to define a workplace strategy and office design that mirrored the core values and requirements of customers and staff. The redesigned workplace will encourage better interaction and engagement with an open plan layout replacing traditional cellularised offices. The new office will have more natural light, refreshed break out areas, and a flexible area where staff can enjoy activities and classes that support health and wellness.

Lead designer at Morgan Lovell Pino Catalano says: “The ultimate goal of the new office is to support Lindt and Sprungli UK and to reinforce their position as a top, luxury FMCG company. They understand the importance of office design in reinforcing positive, productive workplace behaviours and it’s brilliant to see how they’re committed to their people. It’s important for colleagues to interact throughout the day, to be cohesive and enjoy their work environment. By opening up their office, Lindt and Sprungli UK are creating opportunities for collaboration, creativity and reinforcing their focus on bringing teams together. We’re so excited to be helping Lindt and Sprungli UK redefine the way they work.”

Another key objective for Lindt and Sprungli UK is to avoid any down time throughout the construction, ensuring that visitors and staff are able to conduct business as usual. The office will be refurbished in three phases and keeping the boardroom open over the 18 week programme is a priority.

A temporary space has been set up on the ground floor to accommodate staff while their workspaces are refurbished. As each phase is completed, people will move back into their new, upgraded environments. The final phase will be to refurbish the reception and meeting rooms on the ground floor.

Colin Allan, managing director of Morgan Lovell comments: “We’re so pleased to be working with one of the most well-known FMCG businesses. They share many of our values, and providing a new dynamic space for their people is a wonderful opportunity for us. We’ve really enjoyed having such a joined up approach right from the start and look forward to handing over the project in October. When completed, the new Lindt and Sprungli UK headquarters will encourage greater staff interaction and integration, reinforce a one team culture and boost pride in the brand.”

Jenny Lawrence, HR director at Lindt & Sprungli adds: “The refurbishment of our UK headquarters is a key step to ensuring that we provide the best possible collaborative environment for our staff and visitors. It’s a big part of our growth plan so it’s vital that we also have the most capable team for the job. We are delighted with the experience we’ve had with Morgan Lovell so far and look forward to seeing our plans unfold over the next few months.”
