Housing regeneration specialist Lovell has been appointed to Bron Afon Community Housing’s £7m framework agreement for external wall insulation and roofing work in Torfaen, South Wales.

Under the agreement, Lovell will be eligible to carry out external improvement work to homes in Torfaen for social enterprise Bron Afon.

Bron Afon’s major programme of work over the next three years will make homes in the Torfaen County Borough area warmer and more energy-efficient and reduce energy bills for residents.

Construction partners appointed to the framework agreement will now have the opportunity to bid to carry out the improvements.

Kerry Battrick, Bron Afon’s head of major works and new build, says: “Rising energy bills mean that many of our tenants have a difficult time managing their limited budgets. Where we have the opportunity through our improvement works such as external wall insulation we can help them save money. Heat escapes through poorly insulated walls and roofs so our work with Lovell and other contractors on this framework will make their homes much more comfortable and economical to live in.”

Lovell regional director Kate Rees said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as a framework partner by Bron Afon. This appointment reflects Lovell’s successful record of delivering large-scale housing refurbishment and regeneration programmes in the region.”
