Top industry accolade for super-considerate Lovell team delivering Bristol homes programme. The team helping deliver a major homes refurbishment programme for Bristol City Council has won a top industry award after showing outstanding levels of consideration for residents and the local community.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme – an independent construction industry organisation which promotes best practice – has presented the top-level Gold award to national housing refurbishment specialist Lovell for its work transforming local authority homes across Bristol.
Lovell was also chosen as a finalist for the overall Most Considerate Site national title and was one of only 31 Gold award winners nationally selected to receive a Most Considerate Site Runner-up award.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme assessor particularly praised the excellent communication and dedication to the security of welfare of residents displayed by the Lovell project team which is carrying out a five-year housing improvement programme for Bristol City Council.
“This was demonstrated at the very highest levels by this site team, and confirmed by the volume of resident feedback questionnaires declaring total satisfaction,” the assessor states in the award citation.
“Exceedingly well-managed”
“A truly proactive resident contact programme was in place, highlighted by various initiatives, including one member of staff learning sign language to improve communications. The cleanliness, presentation and protection of each work area was exemplary.” The citation also highlights Lovell’s work engaging with local schools and providing help for residents, describing the scheme as “an exceedingly well-managed project with real dedication to delivering the best considerate performance”. Lovell staff working on the refurbishment have so far installed new kitchens at 4,320 homes in Bristol and rewired more than 3,330 properties with current resident satisfaction levels running at 98 per cent.
“I’m thrilled by this ringing endorsement for the community commitment and professional approach displayed by project manager Matthew Legg and his team,” says Lovell regional director David Gough. “To gain both a Gold Considerate Constructors award and a national Most Considerate Site runner-up award is a tremendous achievement by everyone working on programme and a great tribute to their belief in working with the utmost consideration and concern for residents as well as making a difference for the community.”
The programme of community support by Lovell in Bristol has included a competition offering local people the chance to apply to have a project carried out which would make a positive impact for their area. The winners were residents at the Lytham House housing scheme in Brislington where Lovell installed a new patio (providing all labour and materials) and held a community barbecue to celebrate. This year’s Gold award follows the Lovell team’s success last year when the company was presented with a Bronze Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Award for its work on the Bristol project.
