Marley has teamed up with the Birmingham Architects Association (BAA), in a year-long sponsorship agreement which will see the company become a ‘friend of the BAA’ until 2020.
Through the partnership, Marley will support the BAA at a number of bespoke events over the next twelve months, working alongside the region’s architects and continuing to develop its already strong relationships within the architectural community.
The first key event – Women in Architecture – is being held on 7th March.
The innovative event will showcase female talent from local universities, as well as West Midlands’ architectural practices, and highlight those who have positively contributed to the built environment of the region. The event will spotlight design projects from across the area which have been spearheaded by female architects.
Jonathan Shum, Specification Manager at Marley, comments: “We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead with our partnership with the BAA. The BAA is a forward-thinking organisation and its willingness to get behind important industry subjects, such as diversity, through events like Women in Architecture is important, and will be strongly supported by us.
“Marley has long established relationships with architectural professionals as we work together to promote roofing best practice and design excellence. This agreement will allow us to further engage with architects so we can better understand the issues they face and share our expertise and support.”
The Birmingham Architectural Association, founded in 1874, represents people in the local area who have an interest in architecture. Run by a community of people from a variety of practices based in the city, its aim is to promote, support and share knowledge through the community.
