Working directly with St. Jude’s Academy in Wolverhampton, leading operable wall specialist Style was asked to install a moveable wall to separate a dual-purpose classroom.  Dramatically improving the use of space, the new sliding partitioning system allows teachers the flexibility to quickly reconfigure the classroom from a single large teaching/activity space into two smaller classrooms that can operate side-by-side.

Following the installation, Style was also appointed as the servicing and repair agent for this and five other moveable walls within the school. Routine servicing will protect the school’s investment by ensuring the continued smooth and safe operation of each wall, therefore extending their lifespan.

St Jude’s’ Academy offers a positive and inclusive environment where diversity is valued. It is a school that stimulates every child for learning so that they will achieve their full potential in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.

The room, like many others in the school, is used for a variety of activities throughout each day. Thanks to the new moveable wall from Style, teachers have been given greater scope to adapt the space to directly meet the teaching plans for the day.

Completed in a simple, yet effective, white melamine finish, this manual moveable wall not only suits the interior design of the room but enables teachers and pupils to attach paintings, drawings or other resources to the surface.

“St Jude’s Academy is one of many schools which has not only had moveable and folding walls installed by us but is now also enjoying routine servicing and maintenance by our national team of technicians”, said Mike Fine, Style’s director for the Midlands.

“Moveable walls are very much like cars in that they need regular servicing and preventative repairs, and spotting minor problems early is far better than a major overhaul, or a replacement wall, later on. In fact, thanks to the expertise of our team, we work with some customers who have had moveable walls in operation for as long as 25 years.”
