Students at the University of Nottingham are enjoying fresh facilities at the School of Music following a refurbishment by local fit-out company B&M Installations.
The £134,000 investment has seen two studios completely transformed with specialist acoustic walls, ceilings, doors and ironmongery in addition to upgraded heating and ventilation equipment and security systems.
The 14 week-long fit-out also included thorough remedial works, installation of improved insulation, new floor finishes and redecoration throughout the music studios, as well as the addition of a suspended ceiling in the lobby and corridor of the School of Music building.
B&M Installations’ project manager Dan Belfield said: “It’s great to see that the University is continually investing in its students and facilities. Modern workspaces and state-of-the-art equipment is so important and makes a huge difference to students and teaching staff.
“We’re experts in fitting-out specialist workspaces and labs and pride ourselves on producing a high-end finish that maintains the University’s reputation as one of the best learning facilities in the county.
“We have a fantastic relationship with the University of Nottingham; this is our 15th Year on campus and we look forward to building upon this partnership for many years to come.”
Hugo Bloch project office at The University of Nottingham said: “B&M Installations has been very easy to work with; they consistently meet our strict deadlines and the finish they provide is excellent. Their attention to detail is very impressive and our students have already provided positive feedback for the music department refurbishment.
“This refurbishment is part of ongoing plans to improve facilities across the University as we continually strive to offer students some of the best learning environments in the country.”
