National property maintenance, refurbishment and new build contractor, Novus Property Solutions, has been appointed to the new national Schools and Community Buildings (SCB2) framework with LHC.
The contractor has won seven regional lots across the whole of England, Wales and Scotland as part of the framework. The value of opportunity generated by SCB2 is expected to be significantly higher than the previous framework, SCB1, which was valued at close to £256 million last year.
The LHC SCB2 framework for schools and community buildings, which is comprised of 25 contractors nationwide, is available to all local authorities, housing associations and other public sector bodies across the whole of the UK. Fully OJEU compliant, the new four-year framework encompasses works carried out for schools and educational buildings as well as community, healthcare and emergency services buildings.
Split into five core value bands, the framework covers new build extensions, general refurbishment and internal refurbishment works and Novus has been appointed to value band one, which covers new build and extension works up to £2 million in addition to refurbishment works to the same value.
Works expected to be undertaken as part of the framework include the replacement of flat and pitched roof coverings, groundworks, drainage, fencing and associated electrical works for multi-use games areas as well as the refurbishment of education learning environments such as home economics and science labs or remodelling community buildings.
Paul Maghie, head of sales at Novus commented: “Being appointed to the SCB2 framework is testament to the high quality of our work and the service we’re able to provide. Our business development team will be working closely with the LHC client engagement team to maximise the opportunities available nationally to our business as part of the framework.”
LHC’s technical manager, Tony Woods commented: “We are pleased to award Novus a place on the framework and look forward to delivering refurbishment projects to the public sector with them over the next four years”
