The hugely successful Changing Lives campaign by Novus Property Solutions is aiming to improve and transform the lives of 20,000 people after surpassing its previous milestone.
The maintenance, refurbishment and new build contractor has contributed more than £2.5 million in social value through the programme, which achieved its original goal of changing 10,000 lives across the course of scheduled activities and initiatives in 2015.
The company has now underlined its ongoing commitment to being a responsible, community-focused business by setting itself a target of doubling the number of lives improved by the campaign by the end of 2016.
Examples of the great work carried out under the Changing Lives banner in 2015 include a complete makeover of the Bristol Complex Needs support centre for homeless men in the Fishponds area of the city, and the transformation of the Pentre Gwyn Community Centre in Wrexham, where a brand new kitchen was installed as part of a comprehensive refurbishment.
The campaign even saw a team of tradespeople from Novus visit Cape Town in South Africa, where they delivered an extensive refurbishment of a nursery that caters for more than 200 local children.
The Changing Lives campaign reflects the core ethos of the Novus brand, and the company’s entire workforce is encouraged to take an involvement. Staff members from all areas of the business contribute ideas for campaign activities, as well as volunteering their time and energy.
Kevin Rhone, head of social value at Novus, said: “Changing Lives has been a roaring success since its launch more than a year ago, and we are already well on our way to hitting the new target of changing the lives of 20,000 people.
“Not only does the campaign help us to deliver some great work in communities that need it, but it also helps to build a real sense of pride amongst our staff. By helping people in their local area, the teams at Novus are building strong relationships with people and organisations.
“Whether it is something as simple as organising a coffee morning, or a larger project such as our refurbishment of a nursery in South Africa, Changing Lives initiatives are a big win for everyone involved.”
