Safety flooring and suspended ceilings are being installed at the University of Teesside after Novus Property Solutions were called in to carry out essential refurbishments on a listed building.
The university’s Constantine Building will remain open and in use by students while Novus operatives set about creating an improved learning environment by upgrading facilities.
As well as the installation of suspended ceilings and new safety flooring, Novus will replaster the walls of the first floor of the building and replace the lighting with fittings that make the space better suited to learning activities.
The works will run from June 2016 through to August 2016, and Novus staff will liaise with university staff to ensure disruption and noise levels are kept to an absolute minimum, while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Some segregation of the building will be required in order to keep students safe, but Novus considerable experience and expertise of refurbishments in academic settings will help to guide the project to success.
