A decorator painting an Aylesbury warehouse has vowed to review all his current projects to use the all-in-one coating as often as possible.
MPS Painting Contractors of Northampton had already planned the job with a different product when Brewers Decorator Centres at Aylesbury suggested the One Can alternative. Having confirmed the change of product with client JCL Glass, the work was complete to revitalise the company’s large warehouse.
The substrate was a factory finished plastisol-covered metal cladding which was painted light grey with doors and window frames in a blue shade.
“The client is very happy with the result, and the lads loved the way it applied,” says MPS director Martin Sellick. “As a product, it’s so easy to use. I’m now looking at all our other projects to see where we can use One Can.”
Following Bradite’s technical advice, Martin had the warehouse jet washed before and after applying a coat of TD39 Degreaser, followed by two coats of One Can Eggshell.
Martin was particularly impressed with the fact that no flashing occurred – where one area of freshly painted cladding had dried before an adjacent area could be tackled. The final result was seamless, he says.
The job, carried out by a workforce averaging three painters at a time, was undertaken while the warehouse continued to operate.
Bradite One Can combines primer, undercoat and topcoat all in one. It can be applied to prime a surface, or used as all three, as in this case.
The quick-drying formula allows it to be touch dry in 30 minutes and re-coatable in one hour. The formulation of the product enhances the flow out and this allows an even application. The end result is a tough, washable surface available in a comprehensive range of BS, RAL and NCS colours.
