Futurebuild, the leading event for the built environment, is solidifying its commitment to driving positive change in the industry through an all-new Innovation Partnership programme for 2020.

This programme is central to Futurebuild’s core purpose as the home of innovation. The latest and most forward-thinking processes, materials and products will be showcased across the event providing visitors with the solutions they need to tackle the biggest challenges facing the built environment. The partnerships will be formed with the brands who share this purpose and are determined to make a difference to the future of the built environment.

Martin Hurn, managing director of Futurebuild Events, said: “There’s no question that in order to create an industry that is not only fit for the future, but also fit for purpose now, we need to change and adapt the way we approach everything across the built environment. We understand that change comes with its own challenges, be they legislative or a simple unwillingness to approach something differently. This is why, at Futurebuild, we’re so passionate about innovation.

“Innovation to us doesn’t just mean futuristic technology, the innovation which sits at the heart of Futurebuild brings together the latest technological advances with improvements to processes and sustainable solutions to make a real difference to the future of the built environment and deliver improved results. With our innovation partners we are aiming to identify and bring to the forefront the brands who are really leading the way.”

One example of the way the Innovation Partnership programme will be brought to life is through the new Innovation Trail. This trail will give leading specifiers and decision makers the opportunity to explore revolutionary products, solutions and materials and meet the leading thinkers behind these innovations.

One of the brands which will be part of the new Innovation Partnership programme is ecological construction product company, Steico. The company will be demonstrating its commitment to healthy, high-performing and sustainable buildings with its STEICOelements range. It provides fully-constructed, wood-based, building cassette systems which make on-site assembly of walls, floors and roofs, fast and affordable.

Craig Colligan, national sales manager at Steico UK said: “We exhibit all over the world but we chose to launch our healthy buildings campaign at Futurebuild in the UK last year. Futurebuild’s visitors are genuinely engaged and so we generated some high calibre sales leads. We’re delighted to return as an Innovation Partner at Futurebuild 2020.

“The Innovation Trail at the 2020 event is perfect to showcase all the products and developments from across the construction sector. It’s a shining example of how the whole industry is collaborating to drive innovation and bring about a sea of change in building healthy, natural and sustainable environments.”

Innovation Partner, Internorm, provides solutions which contribute to comfortable home technology such as bespoke windows and doors. The company will be showcasing its latest innovations from security and light control, to heat control, and ventilation as well as their collaboration with Loxone, Smart Home Technology.

Andreas Simmer, MD, Internorm said: “We’re continually improving and developing our product ranges to provide our customers with the latest technology and innovative designs. Being an Innovation Partner at Futurebuild gives us the opportunity to elevate these innovations to our customer base at the 2020 event.”

The Concrete Centre will bring its expertise on material, design and construction to the Innovation Partnership programme.

Claire Ackerman, director, The Concrete Centre said: “The challenges that face our built environment are increasing, as are the demands we make of our buildings, infrastructure and supply chain. Concrete, the material and industry, is part of the innovation and new technology needed to address the challenges faced by society and we are delighted to be a Futurebuild Innovation Partner.

“As part of the Innovation Trail, we’ll be showcasing our Concrete Futures feature – a mix of physical exhibits and video that demonstrates how concrete is evolving and innovating to deliver a sustainable, net zero carbon-built environment now and for future generations. We look forward to being part of the trail and seeing everyone at the event.
