The winners of the FX International Interior Design Awards were announced at a terrific showbiz-style party on the 29th November at Grosvenor House in London, with Jimmy Carr as the evening’s MC.

The Awards, which celebrate world-class design excellence, were open to architects, designers, clients and suppliers for interior design projects or products that were completed or launched between 20th July 2015 and 20th July 2017. Categories included Public Space Scheme, Floor Covering, Hotel, Surfaces and Museum or Exhibition Space – in some of the most hotly contested categories, there were as many as 10 judges on a category!

The judging panel was an independent panel of experts from many different sectors of the design world, including engineers, clients and architects. Each judge was invited for their integrity, opinions and experience, and they ranked their top six entries in each category -before even knowing who their co-judges were! Placings were scored and added together to create the shortlist, and finally the ultimate winner.

Four other prestigious awards were voted for by FX readers worldwide; Ken Shuttleworth was the recipient of the Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Design Award, which closed the Awards ceremony and made room for the celebrations to really start!
