Eurovia Contracting has been nominated for the prestigious CIHT Major Project Award in recognition of the transformation of Hull city centre in time for the City of Culture celebrations.
The public realm scheme by Eurovia Contracting North connected separate phases of the city’s development, and involved the redesign of 14 streets and four public spaces, including key retail areas, a civic square, historic town streets and the iconic Trinity Square, which is home to Hull Minster.
The scheme has resulted in 88% of local people increasing their visits into Hull, while it also contributed to an 83% rise in people visiting the city centre in the evening, with more pavement cafes and meeting areas, increasing business and job opportunities.

Eurovia Contracting North is also part of the Midlands Highway Alliance, which has been nominated in the Collaboration Award category for the Midlands Alliance Medium Schemes Framework 2 (MSF2).
The winners will be announced at the CIHT Awards 2018 ceremony at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 14 June.
