Leading social housing maintenance provider, Wates Living Space, has been appointed by Crawley Borough Council to deliver a ten year programme of housing repairs across the borough.

Wates Living Space is one of two contractors employed to carry out responsive repairs to 9,400 properties and 5,000 garages over the ten year period.

The contract will commence in April 2020 and will see Wates deliver responsive repairs, planned maintenance and work to refurbish void properties.

Wates Living Space has an existing relationship with Crawley Borough Council, having previously delivered Crawley Homes’ Decent Homes programme, with works completing in 2012.

David Morgan, Managing Director of Wates Property Services, commented: “Crawley Borough Council has a very clear strategy to provide an efficient and high quality service across its housing portfolio, an ambition to which our expertise is perfectly suited.

“We very much look forward to working with the borough again over the next decade, and our priority is to enhance service delivery and working closely with the client to develop a seamless customer journey, ensuring we provide an exceptional service from day one.”

Cabinet member for Housing, Councillor Ian Irvine, said: “This is great news for our council tenants, who will continue to receive top quality service. Here at the council we have a thought process to ensure we get the best possible deal for both the organisation and our residents.”
